Our Institutional Journey and Evolution
The Faith Institute for Pastoral Counselling and Family Affairs represents the culmination of an innovative and transformational institutional journey that has undergone significant progressive development from 2019 to the present day, under visionary leadership committed to advancing pastoral care, leadership formation, and professional counselling practice. This evolution reflects a consistent commitment to responding to emerging global challenges in sexual health, addiction recovery, family systems, leadership development, and pastoral counselling through structured training, advocacy, and academic formation.
The institution, as it is known today, originally began in 2019 under the name Purity World International, a missionary-based organization established to promote advocacy campaigns against sexual perversion, moral decline, and related behavioural challenges affecting individuals, families, and faith communities. At its foundational stage, the focus was primarily on public enlightenment, community outreach, and faith-driven interventions aimed at restoring sexual integrity and moral consciousness within society.
In response to increasing demand for structured intervention and formalized training, the organization underwent its first major institutional transition in 2022, when it was formally registered as the Initiative for Community Sex Education and Addiction Rehabilitation (ICSEAR). This phase marked a strategic expansion from advocacy into structured community education, addiction awareness, and rehabilitative support systems, with a growing emphasis on professional counselling approaches and therapeutic frameworks.
Further developmental advancement occurred in 2023 with the establishment of its academic arm, registered as the ICSEAR Global Academy. This phase represented a significant milestone in institutional maturation, introducing formal academic programming, curriculum-based training, and professional certification in counselling and addiction recovery studies. During this period, the Academy successfully trained over 1,400 students across more than 28 nations, spanning Africa, the United States of America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and South America, thereby establishing a strong international footprint in pastoral counselling and addiction rehabilitation education.
In 2026, following continued expansion and academic consolidation, the institution attained full recognition as a structured institute under its present identity, the Faith Institute for Pastoral Counselling and Family Affairs, and received accreditation from the Nigerian Council for Theological Studies and Christian Education. This accreditation formally affirmed its status as a professional and faith-based training institute dedicated to excellence in pastoral counselling, family restoration, leadership development, and integrative mental health education.
Today, the Faith Institute for Pastoral Counselling and Family Affairs stands as a multidisciplinary institution committed to the development of ethically grounded, clinically informed, spiritually mature, and leadership-equipped practitioners. It integrates pastoral theology, counselling psychology, addiction rehabilitation studies, family systems theory, and leadership development frameworks to equip students for effective service in churches, rehabilitation centres, academic institutions, governance spaces, and community development platforms. Through its structured academic programmes, supervised clinical practice, and transformational learning environment, the Institute continues to advance its mission of raising globally competent clergy, counsellors, family restoration experts, and leadership figures capable of addressing the complex emotional, relational, behavioral, and societal challenges of contemporary society.
